STANDING UP FOR RECORDING MUSICIANS: AFM President Ray Hair (above, left) joined Local 802 political director Chris Carroll at the January meeting of the NYC chapter of the Recording Musicians’ Association. They discussed the status of the ongoing Sound Recording Labor Agreement negotiations as well as pending legislation that could affect NYC’s recording musicians. Several AFM local presidents and officials were also in town for the negotiations, including John Acosta (president, AFM Local 47) and Marc Sazer (president, RMA International).

Local 802 member Andrew Cyrille thrilled audiences at this year’s NYC Winter Jazzfest,
which covers musicians under a Local 802 union contract.
