OFFICE OF THE RECORDING VICE-PRESIDENT

The Recording Vice-President's Office, formerly known as the Secretary's Office, performs and oversees a number of vital functions. The Recording Vice-President is the supervising officer
responsible for the Recording, Organizing, Contract
Administration/Field Services and Jazz
departments, along with the supervisors of
each of these departments. The Recording Vice-President is a voting member of the Executive Board, a member of the Allegro Editorial Board, a Trustee of the Local 802 Health Benefits Plan, and of the Theatre Sick Pay and Hospitalization Funds.
Other functions of this office are:
- Maintaining the official files of the union, including originals of collective bargaining agreements, maintenance of signatory employer lists and official minutes of Executive Board meetings;
- Handling correspondence with the AFM and other official correspondence;
- Administering elections of officers, Executive Board and Trial Board members;
- Interviewing prospective AFM Booking Agent applicants and maintaining a list of approved agents;
- Receiving contracts from traveling musicians.
Administrative duties include:
Administering the AFL-CIO Union Privilege Program;
Scheduling the rental of rehearsal rooms on the main floor;
Scheduling Executive and Trial Board appointments and assisting members in filing charges;
Administering the Lester Petrillo Memorial Fund for Disabled Musicians;
Updating Local 802 bylaws and disseminating information about them.
