RULES
No Recording is Permitted Without the Use of a Valid AFM Recording Agreement
All Sessions AFM-EP Fund Contribution 10% of Gross Scale (including overtime and doubling)
No Cancellations less than seven (7) days prior to the date of the session

Health and Welfare
19.00 per musician for the first original service and 15.50 for each additional service that day
Arranger/Orchestrator/Copyist - 19.00 per service and 15.50 for each additional service that day

Leaders and/or Contractors:
1. Sessions MUST be reported in advance.
2. Contracts MUST be filled in COMPLETELY.
3. The leader or contractor MUST, WITHIN 72 HOURS of the session, turn in a B-4 contract with the completed W-4's and I-9's with backup, for all personnel to the company and have the representative of the company accepting the contract initial and date it to acknowledge receipt of same. If the contract, W-4's and I-9's are mailed to the company, they must be sent by certified mail, and return receipt requested.

PREMIUM RATES
One and one half times the basic session and overtime rates shall be paid on all recordings which occur during the following times:
Between Midnight and after 8:00 a.m.
After 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays if it is the 6th consecutive day of work for the company
and on Sundays

LOW BUDGET SOUND RECORDING SCALE SUMMARY
February 1, 2005 - January 31, 2006

THE LOW BUDGET PHONOGRAPH SESSION MUST BE APPROVED IN ADVANCE BY THE AFM. THE FEDERATION SHALL BE SUPPLIED WITH A COPY OF THE PRODUCER'S BUDGET NO LATER THAN 72 HOURS PRIOR TO THE SESSION.

THE LOW BUDGET PHONOGRAPH RECORDING RATES ARE APPLICABLE ONLY FOR RECORDING PROJECTS IN WHICH THE TOTAL BUDGET FOR A COMPLETE CD RELEASE IS $99,000 OR LESS.

The budget shall include studio charges, engineering, tape, mixing costs, payments to musicians and their travel expenses, equipment rental, but exclude producer and artist advances, artwork, travel for artists and producers and mastering costs.

BASIC SCALE RATE: (for a three hour session): $194.35
OVERTIME RATE: (per one half-hour or any portion thereof): $64.78

Work performed between midnight and 8:00 AM,  and on Sundays, pays 150% of the basic scale rates and/or overtime rates.

Premium Overtime Rates: Work performed between midnight and 8:00 AM,  and on Sundays, pays 150% of the basic scale rates and/or overtime rates, 200% of the basic scale rates for work performed on holidays (see above section for list of holidays).

Leader Premium: Double applicable side musician scale rate. A leader is required for all sessions. However, no leader is required on sessions with two or less musicians for overdubs only.

Contractor: Double applicable side musician rate. A contractor is required on all sessions employing 12 or more musicians.

Pension: 10% of scale wages.

Health & Welfare: $12.00 for each original service.

All other terms and conditions of the AFM Sound Recording Labor Agreement apply.
