RECORDING SCALES
TV & VIDEO RULES SUMMARY
| Doubling - (All Other Programs) |
For the first double - 25% of the following, and for each additional double - 10% of the following:
1/2 hour show - air rate plus actual rehearsal hours used, to a maximum of 4 hours rehearsal
1 hour show - air rate plus actual rehearsal hours used, to a maximum of 8 hours rehearsal
1 & 1/2 hour show - air rate plus actual rehearsal hours used, to a maximum of 12 hours rehearsal
Each additional 15 minutes beyond 1 & 1/2 hours - air rate plus actual rehearsal hours used, to a maximum of 2 hours rehearsal

| General Provisions |
Pension - 10%
Health & Welfare - $16.00 per day / per show with weekly maximum of $70.00.
Cancellations - no cancellations or postponements less than 4 days prior to the date of the call.
Multiple Sponsors - $7.00 per musician per 1/2 hour
Rest Periods - 10 minutes per hour, with no more than two rest periods combined. Except in the case of taping live or airing live, a penalty of 50% of the applicable rehearsal rate shall be imposed for the period commencing when the musicians were initially entitled to a rest period (i.e., after two hours in the chair plus a 5-minute grace period) and continuing until the musicians are released for their rest period. Penalties shall be imposed in 15-minute units.
Meal Periods - For work beyond 6 consecutive hours without a meal break of at least 1 hour, a penalty shall be imposed equal to 2 hours at the applicable rehearsal rate plus 1/2 hour at the straight time rehearsal rate for each additional 1/2 hour delay.
Incomplete Tracks
1. For "self-contained groups" - air rate for the show.
2. To the recording and music preparation musicians who made the original recording - air rate plus minimum guaranteed rehearsal.
3. To the "in-studio" orchestra - an additional 2 hours rehearsal for the first track used and 1 additional hour rehearsal for each additional track used, except when the unique music sounds produced by the track of the "guest group" cannot effectively be reproduced by the "in-studio" orchestra.
Leader - Double scale
Needle Drop (Optional formula) - With respect to weekly variety shows and variety specials (excluding bank acts), the Producer at its option may utilize the following formula:
1. The basic scale for pre-recording under this provision shall be $180.00 per hour with a 3-hour minimum call. Premium pay provisions shall apply.
2. Unlimited use by the Producer on the program for which they were made.
3. If there is an "in-studio" orchestra, it must be the same orchestra as did the pre-recordings, but is paid at the regular show rates unless it also overdubs onto the pre-record, in which case each musician will receive the special pre-recording rate of $180.00 per hour. If no "in-studio" work is performed, a minimum of 3 hours of pre-recording is required for a 1/2 hour program; 6 hours for a 1 hour program; and 9 hours for a 90 minute program.
4. The meal penalty shall be based on the regular rehearsal rate.
5. Doubles shall be paid an additional $180 for the first double, and $72 for each additional double regardless of the number of hours of doubling.
6. The company must give prior notice to the Federation.
Contractor - When an orchestra consists of 6 or less playing musicians a contractor shall not be required. When an orchestra consists of from 7 to 14 playing musicians either a playing or non-playing contractor shall be employed and be paid as follows:
non-playing contractor - 150% of applicable scale playing contractor - double the applicable scale
When an orchestra consists of 15 or more musicians (including leader), the non-playing contractor shall be paid double scale for the first broadcast use.

| Premium Pay |
1. For all work beyond an 8-hour span between 8:00AM and 12 midnight - 150% (in 15 minute units)
2. For all work between 12 midnight and 8:00AM - 150% (in 15 minute units)
3. For all work beyond an 8-hour span between 12 midnight and 8:00AM - 200% (in 15 minute units)
4. For all work on the following holidays - 200%: New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Upon a second or subsequent showing of any program made under this agreement, the following percentage payments shall be made to each musician based on his/her scale earnings:

Arrangers, Orchestrators, and Production Musicians receive the above percentages of their scale earnings to a maximum of 150% of the reuse payment to the leader.
Copyists and Librarians receive the above percentages of their scale earnings to a maximum of 150% of the reuse payment to the instrumentalists.

| Foreign Use |

Foreign use payments are computed with respect to the following "Foreign Residual Base" formulas:
Programs of one hour or less - percentage payments are based on scale to a maximum of 150% of the guaranteed rehearsal hours and air rate.
Programs longer than one hour - percentage payments are based on scale to a maximum of 125% of the guaranteed rehearsal hours and air rate.
Percentage Payments
1. For all foreign use - 45% of the "Foreign Residual Base", or
2. For broadcast in one or more of the specified "Areas," the following percentage of the "Foreign Residual Base" shall be paid to each musician for use in each of the specified "Areas":
