Financial Wellness for Musicians Amid COVID-19

Women of 802 member Cecelia Hobbs Gardner will host this free webinar dedicated to providing resources and support to help Local 802 musicians maintain financial health and well-being during the COVID-19 crisis. Rebecca Selkowe, J.D., Financial Wellness Counselor at The Actors Fund, will provide an overview of available federal and NY-based financial assistance and relief; discuss cash flow management strategies; and address as many of participants’ questions as possible.

Specific topics will include updated unemployment information, credit card payment and debt relief, tax preparation, banking relief/fee waivers, and changes in retirement account withdrawal rules.

*Participants who register will be notified that they will receive instructions for joining the webinar approximately one hour prior to the start of the event.  

ABOUT REBECCA SELKOWE, JD:

Rebecca Selkowe runs the Financial Wellness Program at The Actors Fund in New York, where she develops and teaches workshops and seminars designed to engage, educate and empower performing arts professionals about the role of money in their lives. Areas of expertise include budgeting with variable and multiple sources of income, managing and eliminating debt, and cultivating a financially healthy mindset. Rebecca is a licensed attorney, a trained classical singer and flutist, and author of Dominate Your Debt: A Work & Play Book. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from Middlebury College and her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
