Jami Dauber is a Musician of New York.

Jami moved to New York after grad school with a dream of playing trumpet on Broadway. After nearly twenty years of subbing, she got her own chair playing in Honeymoon in Vegas, and played trumpet in A Bronx Tale‘s 2016-2018 Broadway run (pictured here behind the scenes of A Bronx Tale in 2018.) Outside of her theater work, Jami performs in a variety of genres and manages The DIVA Jazz Orchestra, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. In her down time, you can find Jami cooking vegetarian recipes, playing with her cats, and – especially in the current political climate – getting involved in social activism.

“There have been challenges over the years being a female trumpet player in a male-dominated profession, and I believe that has made me a stronger person. I hope that between performing on Broadway and managing and playing in The DIVA Jazz Orchestra, I can be a role model to younger musicians, especially female musicians, so they can see that they can do this. I didn’t have that when I was growing up.” #MusiciansofNY
