“Chef’s Theatre.” Local 802 counsel Harvey Mars negotiated a settlement with Marty Bell, the producer of “Chef’s Theatre: A Musical Feast,” an Off Broadway production that appeared at the Supper Club. The production is currently on hiatus because of a leak in the theatre. The employer had failed to pay the last three weeks’ wages and benefits to the five musicians in the show. The settlement comes to a whopping $30,836.53, which the employer is paying to the union in installments and includes musicians’ wages, pension, health interest, penalties, counsel fees and arbitrators’ fees. The show involved an on-stage preparation of a gourmet meal, which is then served to the audience. Marty Bell is also the producer of “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.”
