Local 802 Member Larry Abel brought charges against Bill Brohn, Sam Davis, Doug Houston, Anne Kaye, David Loud, Paul Masse, Neil Reilly: violation of Article 4 Section 1, “It shall be a violation and detrimental to the welfare of this Local for a member to commit any one or more of the following acts, all of which are hereby prohibited, viz. [Article 4 Section 1] (o) “to fail to report within a week to the Recording Vice-President, knowledge of any violation of the Constitution, bylaws or Wage Scales of this local.”

These charges were brought in regard to compensation for music prep work by copyists for a production of “First You Dream”, first presented in 2009 at the Signature Theater in VA, then in 2012 at the Kennedy Center, and then in November 2015 televised on PBS from Skokie IL.

The 802 Trial Board convened to hear this case in 3 sessions.

First session on April 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., ending 4:30 p.m. Present: Blanc, Gorruso, Lorentsen, Moschel, Rubinstein, Willis. Absent: Eidem, Moye, Shulman.
Present to testify were plaintiff Abel aided by Larry Spivack, and defendants Brohn, Loud, and Masse.

Second session on May 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., ending 4:30 p.m. Present: Blanc, Eidem, Gorruso, Lorentsen, Moschel, Rubinstein, Shulman. Absent: Moye, Willis.
Present to testify were plaintiff Abel aided by Robert Petre, and defendants Houston and Kaye.

Third session on June 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., ending 4:00 p.m. Present: Blanc, Eidem, Gorruso, Lorentsen, Moschel, Moye, Rubinstein, Willis. Absent: Shulman.

Over the three sessions the Trial Board heard testimony and examined evidence. As Sam Davis and Neil Reilly are no longer members of Local 802, charges against them were dropped. After discussion, the Trial Board in a unanimous vote dismissed all charges against the remaining defendants.
