AFM Web Sites Now Have Gig Info

Volume CV, No. 11November, 2005

Looking for gigs? The AFM now has two new Web pages that might help members get jobs.

The first is on the AFM’s own Web site, www.afm.org. From the main page, click “Members login.” Once you’re logged in, click on the link, “Professional music forums.” From there, you’ll be taken to the AFM’s new forums, where you can visit as a guest or register your own profile. Besides job postings, these message boards include such topics as relief for New Orleans musicians, AFM policies, legislative news and more.

The second Web site is www.GoProMusic.com. This is a new site developed by the AFM. The idea is that if you are a member of the public looking to hire live music, you go to this site to find musicians. So AFM members should definitely register themselves. To register, go to www.GoProMusic.com. At the very bottom of the page, click on “AFM members: get listed here.” Now, log in. (You must be a registered member of the AFM’s Web site first.) Once you’re logged in, a separate page opens up. Click on the link “Register” under “Artist Navigation” in the blue bar at the top of the page.
