The Entertainment Community Fund’s Housing Services

Volume 123, No. 7July, 2023

Entertainment Community Fund

The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund) is a national human services organization that helps address the specific needs of musicians and other entertainment professionals—with a unique understanding of the challenges involved with a life in the arts and the knowledge of what it takes to thrive in an often-unpredictable industry.

This July, the Entertainment Community Fund shines a spotlight on housing resources available to members of Local 802 through the Fund.

Are you interested in applying for affordable housing but don’t know where to begin? Do you need assistance navigating the current rental market in NYC or setting up a profile on NYC Housing Connect? The Entertainment Community Fund is here to help!

Offering free online workshops on topics ranging from apartment hunting to housing for seniors, the Fund is committed to providing information and assistance to members of the community seeking affordable housing and practical information on how to get organized and take advantage of opportunities to apply.

In addition to monthly workshops and seminars, the Entertainment Community Fund is proud to maintain affordable housing units across three residences—The Dorothy Ross Friedman Residence and Schermerhorn in New York City and The Palm View in Los Angeles—all of which are connected to supportive services available to residents. As of May 2023, The Hollywood Arts Collective is also on this list, providing arts and entertainment professionals affordable space to live, work and create in the heart of Los Angeles.

For those seeking rentals, sublets or roommates, the Fund’s Housing Bulletin Board provides a space for individuals in the community to share housing opportunities and find rentals. Are you looking to educate yourself further on housing-related topics? The Housing Resource Center provides a curated list of resources to help with information on subjects ranging from tenants’ rights to homeownership.

The housing services of the Entertainment Community Fund are available to all members of Local 802. To learn more, please visit entertainmentcommunity.org/Housing
