TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2015

Meeting called to order at 11:05 a.m. Present: President Gagliardi, Recording Vice President O’Connor, Executive Board members Brandford, Cranshaw, Cutler, Dougherty, Kruvand, Schwartz, Sharman. Financial Vice President Olcott and Executive Board member Hyde absent on union business.

Minutes from February 3, 2015 reviewed. It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes from February 3, 2015 as corrected. Motion carried unanimously.

President Gagliardi requested an upgrade for his return air travel from the upcoming Western Conference of Locals in San Jose. It was moved and seconded to grant the request. Motion carried unanimously.

Gagliardi presented a request from the New York City Opera Renaissance to waive evening rehearsal scale for an evening rehearsal on March 8 for a concert at Rose Hall on March 9. It was moved and seconded to grant the request. Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously.

Gagliardi presented an invitation from Women in the Arts and Media Coalition to become a member organization for $500. Discussion held. It was moved and seconded to become a member. Discussion held. Motion carried. O’Connor opposed.

Recording Vice President O’Connor reported on a meeting with BAM on February 4. Discussion held.

O’Connor reported on a Winter Jazz Festival musicians meeting on February 9. Discussion held.

O’Connor presented a letter from May Day United asking for contributions to help fund the May Day 2015 march and rally. It was moved and seconded to donate $500. Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously.

O’Connor reported on language in the Single Engagement Club Date Collective Bargaining agreement which requires the parties to renegotiate contributions to the Local 802 Musicians Health Fund in the event of the institution of a government health plan. Discussion held.

Political and Public Relations Director Kremen present. Kremen reported on the Empire State Music Production Tax Credit campaign. Discussion held. Kremen excused.

Theater Representative Blum present. Blum presented an Agreement with Amas Musical Theater, Inc. Discussion held. Blum excused. It was moved and seconded to approve the Agreement with Amas Musical Theater, Inc. Motion carried unanimously.

Executive Board member Cutler excused at 12:40. Executive Board member Schwartz presented an invitation from the Jewish Labor Committee to attend its 44th Human Rights Awards Dinner on March 19. Discussion held. It was moved and seconded to purchase a seat and a listing for $500. Motion carried unanimously.

O’Connor presented a request for a leave of absence from a Broadway musician. It was moved and seconded to approve the leave of absence. Motion carried unanimously.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2015

Meeting called to order at 11:05 a.m. by Financial Vice President Olcott. Present: Olcott, Recording Vice President O’Connor, Executive Board members Brandford, Cranshaw, Dougherty, Hyde, Kruvand, Schwartz, Sharman. President Gagliardi absent on union business.

Minutes from February 10, 2015 reviewed. It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes from February 10, 2015 as corrected. Motion carried unanimously.

Financial Vice President Olcott presented a request from the Queens Symphony to use public service scales for a concert on February 25, including three rehearsals. An additional request to use public service scales was made for a concert on March 18, including three rehearsals. It was moved and seconded to grant the requests. Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously. Olcott reported on a meeting scheduled between the Queens Symphony Board and the Queens Symphony Orchestra Committee.

Olcott presented a request from the Bronx Arts Ensemble to use public service scales for a concert on February 17. It was moved and seconded to grant the request. Motion carried unanimously.

Recording Vice President O’Connor reported on jazz organizing. Discussion held.

Executive Board member Kruvand reported on the organization, Women in Music. Discussion held. It was moved and seconded to purchase two $50 tickets to a Women in Music event on February 22. Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously.

Local 802 Business Representative Friedman present. Friedman presented a request from North/South Consonance, Inc. to use public service scales for a rehearsal on March 13, a rehearsal on March 16 and a concert on March 16. Friedman reported on the Music Performance Trust Fund’s upcoming fiscal year. Discussion held. Friedman excused. It was moved and seconded to grant the request from North/South Consonance, Inc. Motion carried unanimously.

Local 802 Political and Public Relations Director Kremen present. Kremen presented a request from One Percent for Culture for a donation. Discussion held. Kremen excused.

Executive Board member Sharman requested that Local 802 pay $2,900 for membership in the Performing Arts Softball League for two teams. Discussion held. It was moved and seconded to pay for the membership in the Performing Arts Softball League.

O’Connor presented 5 requests for leaves of absence from Broadway musicians. It was moved and seconded to approve the leaves of absence. Motion carried unanimously.

Olcott and Executive Board member Hyde reported on their participation in International Foundation of Employee Benefits Fund workshops held in Orlando, Florida earlier this month. Discussion held.
