TUESDAY, MARCH 3, 2015

Meeting called to order at 11:05 a.m. by Financial Vice President Olcott. Present: Executive Board members Brandford, Burridge, Cranshaw, Hyde, Kruvand, Schwartz, Sharman. President Gagliardi absent due to illness and Recording Vice President O’Connor on vacation. Sharman taking minutes.

Minutes from February 24, 2015 reviewed. It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes from February 24, 2015 as corrected. Motion carried unanimously.

Financial Vice President Olcott presented a request for annual salary increases for 6 non-bargaining unit employees. Discussion held. It was moved and seconded to approve the request. Motion carried unanimously.

Olcott presented a request from the Orchestra of St. Luke’s to use Public Service scales for a series of admission-free educational concerts performed daily March 21 through March 26. It was moved and seconded to approve the request. Motion carried unanimously.

Olcott presented 4 leaves of absence requests from Broadway musicians. Motion made and seconded to approve the leaves of absence. Motion carried unanimously.

Executive Board member Kruvand announced a meeting of the Recording Musicians Association, New York chapter (RMA-NY) on Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the Local 802 clubroom.

Local 802 Controller Camiolo present 11:24. Camiolo presented December 2014 financials. Discussion held. Camiolo distributed a letter with the Union’s LM-2 to the Officers and Executive Board members along with an attached table to be completed by each Officer and Board Member and submitted to the Controller. Discussion held. Camiolo excused 11:55.

Principal Business Rep Sheldon present 12:00 p.m. Sheldon presented a request for a Limited Pressing Agreement (LPA) with Sh-K-Boom Records for the recording of the Off Broadway production of “Pretty Filthy.” Discussion held. Sheldon excused 12:08. It was moved and seconded to approve the request. Motion carried unanimously.

Kruvand reported on the Women in Music event held on February 22 at the Cutting Room. Discussion held.

Executive Board member Schwartz reported on the upcoming Jewish Labor Committee Human Rights Dinner to be held on March 19 at the New York Hilton. Discussion held.

TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 2015

Meeting called to order at 11:10 a.m. by Financial Vice President Olcott. Present: Executive Board members Brandford, Cranshaw, Dougherty, Hyde, Kruvand, Schwartz, Sharman, Assistant to the President Bond.

Minutes from March 3, 2015 reviewed. It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes from March 3, 2015 as corrected. Motion carried unanimously.

Financial Vice President Olcott presented a request from the Bronx Arts Ensemble to use Public Service scales for a rehearsal and concert on March 11, 2015. Discussion held. It was moved and seconded to approve the request. Motion carried unanimously. Olcott presented a request from the Riverside Symphony to pay a 1 hour sound check at regular rates. Discussion held. It was moved and seconded to approve the request. Motion carried unanimously. Olcott reported on preliminary discussions with the Queens Symphony Orchestra. Discussion held.

Executive Board member Burridge present 11:33. Olcott presented a leave of absence request from a Broadway musician. Motion made and seconded to approve the leave of absence. Motion carried unanimously.

Theatre Business Rep Blum present 11:43. Blum distributed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Happy Tunes Productions, Inc. for the production of “Disenchanted” to be performed at the Westside Theatre. Discussion held. Blum excused 11:47. It was moved and seconded to approve the MOA. Motion carried unanimously.

TUESDAY, MARCH 24, 2015

Meeting called to order at 11:08 a.m. Present: President Gagliardi, Financial Vice President Olcott, Recording Vice President O’Connor, Executive Board members Burridge, Cranshaw, Dougherty, Kruvand, Sharman.

Minutes from March 10, 2015 reviewed. It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes from March 10, 2015 as corrected. Motion carried unanimously.

Morgan Stanley Investments representatives Keith Dressel and Cynthia Lachnicht present. Dressel and Lachnicht gave a report on Local 802 investments. Discussion held. Executive Board member Cutler present at 11:42. Dressel and Lachnicht excused.

President Gagliardi reported on a letter from AFM President Hair requesting Gagliardi’s presence at a Societies Council for the Collective Management of Performers’ Rights (SCAPRA) meeting in Belgrade on May 18, 19 and 20. Discussion held. It was moved and seconded to authorize a one-class upgrade for Gagliardi’s roundtrip flight to attend the SCAPRA meeting. Motion carried unanimously. It was moved and seconded to authorize expenses necessary for Gagliardi to attend the SCAPRA meeting up to $6,345.20, reimbursement to be requested from the Coordinating Advisory Committee (CAC). Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously.

Gagliardi distributed copies of a letter from Local 47 to AFM President Hair requesting implementation of recommendations by a Local 47 Motion Picture/TV Employment Task Force.

Gagliardi further reported on an upcoming meeting of the AFM Electronic Media Oversight Committee in Nashville next week. Discussion held.

Gagliardi reported on a dismissal of a musician from a Broadway show. Discussion held.

Financial Vice President Olcott presented a request from the Queens Symphony Orchestra to use public service scales for two concerts: one on April 11, including three rehearsals and one on April 19, including one rehearsal. It was moved and seconded to grant the request. Motion carried unanimously. Discussion held.

Gagliardi reported on a rally taking place in Albany to support music production tax credit legislation. Discussion held. It was moved and seconded to donate to the Council for Living Music an amount equivalent to the cost of a four piece band at public service scales to play for the above mentioned rally. Motion carried unanimously.

Local 47 President John Acosta present. Acosta reported on the recommendations of the Local 47 Motion Picture/TV Employment Task Force to the AFM. Discussion held. Acosta excused.

Olcott reported on American Symphony Orchestra matters. Discussion held.

Recording Vice President O’Connor reported on a fundraiser for the carwash workers who are out on strike against Vegas Carwash for union recognition. Discussion held. It was moved and seconded to donate $200 to support the carwash workers. Discussion held. Motion carried. Kruvand opposed.

O’Connor reported on the implementation of the new collective bargaining agreement with 54 Below.

O’Connor reported on a meeting with Lincoln Center management regarding a possible union agreement covering the American Songbook series and Lincoln Center’s outdoor summer concert series. Discussion held.

Executive Board member Kruvand reported on an upcoming Labor Notes workshop on March 28. Discussion held.

O’Connor presented 2 requests for leaves of absence from Broadway musicians. It was moved and seconded to approve the leaves of absence. Motion carried unanimously.

Theatre Representative Blum present. Blum presented a Reading Agreement with Somerled Charitable Foundation for the reading production of “Slaughterhouse Five, the Musical.” Discussion held. Blum excused. It was moved and seconded to approve the Reading Agreement with Somerled Charitable Foundation. Motion carried unanimously.

Gagliardi reported on an agreement with the New York Philharmonic on its addendum to the Integrated Media Agreement. Discussion held.
