Meeting called to order at 11:08 a.m. by Financial Vice President Olcott. Present: Recording Vice President Schwartz, Executive Board members Burridge, Cutler, Hyde, Kruvand, Sharman, Suttmann. President Gagliardi absent on union business. Minutes from June 14, 2016 reviewed. It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes from June 14, 2016 as corrected. Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously.

Financial Vice President Olcott reported on negotiations between Local 802 and American Ballet Theatre. Olcott reported that drafts for a Memorandum of Agreement between Local 802 and Orchestra of St. Luke’s are in progress. Olcott reported on negotiations between Local 802 and American Symphony Orchestra. Discussion held.

President Gagliardi present at 11:25 and assumed the chair. Gagliardi reported on his meeting with the Citizens’ Advisory Committee of the Mayor’s Office for Cultural Affairs regarding live music venues in New York City. Discussion held. Gagliardi reported on negotiations between Local 802 and Broadway HD for the broadcast of the Broadway show “She Loves Me.”

Gagliardi excused and Executive Board recessed at 11:40. Gagliardi present and Board reconvened at 11:43. Gagliardi reported on progress of the negotiations between Local 802 and Broadway HD. Discussion held.

Recording Vice President Schwartz reported on negotiations between Local 802 and Massimo Gallotta Productions pertaining to a performance of “The Legend of Zelda – Symphony of the Goddesses” at the Barclay’s Center on October 13, 2015. Discussion held.

Gagliardi presented an invoice in the amount of $800 payable to the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation for Local 802’s participation in Broadway Salutes 2016. It was moved and seconded to approve the payment of the invoice for Broadway Salutes 2016. Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously. Gagliardi reported on matters pertaining to a vacancy on the Executive Board. Discussion held.

Gagliardi reported that Allison Beck of the Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service has invited him to take part in a panel discussion at the Future@Work conference in Chicago, August 17-19, 2016. Discussion held.

Political and Communications Director Carroll present. Carroll reported on his participation with Gagliardi at the meeting of the Citizens’ Advisory Committee of the Mayor’s Office for Cultural Affairs regarding live music venues in New York City. Discussion held.

Carroll proposed a donation to the campaign for reelection of Ben Kallos, New York City Council Member representing District 5. Carroll excused. It was moved and seconded to donate $500 to the campaign for reelection of Ben Kallos, with funds to come from TEMPO. Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously.

Gagliardi reported on his attendance at the International Federation of Musicians (FIM) conference in Reykjavik, Iceland, June 6-9, 2016. Discussion held. Gagliardi and Delegates reported on their participation at the 100th Convention of the American Federation of Musicians, Las Vegas, June 20-24, 2016. Discussion held.

Board recessed at 12:55. Board reconvened at 1:05. Schwartz presented a quote in the amount of $2,567.40 for the purchase of Local 802 t-shirts and hats. It was moved and seconded to approve the purchase of Local 802 t-shirts and hats at a cost of $2,567.40. Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously.

Gagliardi updated his report on the negotiations between Local 802 and Broadway HD for the broadcast of “She Loves Me.” Gagliardi announced the live filming of “Hamilton” on June 28, 2016.

Schwartz presented a request for a donation from the Tamiment Library of the Wagner Archives. It was moved and seconded to donate $250 to the Tamiment Library. Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously.

Schwartz presented a proposal from Kaback Service for equipment and maintenance to the air-conditioning system in the union’s building. Discussion held.

Schwartz requested confirmation by the Executive Board of an email poll approving donations of $200 to the primary campaign of Keith Wright for election to the U.S. House of Representatives from New York’s 13th Congressional District and $100 to the reelection primary campaign of Rep. Jerrold Nadler of New York’s 10th Congressional District. It was moved and seconded to confirm the email poll. Discussion held.Motion carried unanimously.

Local 802 counsel Mars present. Schwartz and Mars reported on the status of the Musicians Referral Service. Discussion held.

Schwartz presented requests from four members for leaves of absence from Broadway shows. It was moved and seconded to approve the leaves of absence. Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously.

Theatre Business Rep Blum present. Blum presented a Letter of Agreement between Local 802 and Public Works with regard to the performance of Jambalaya Brass Band for the production of “Twelfth Night” at the Delacorte Theatre. Blum excused. It was moved and seconded to approve the Letter of Agreement with Public Works. Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously.

Concert Department Business Rep Fisher present. Fisher presented a Memorandum of Agreement between Local 802 and Center for Contemporary Opera. Fisher presented a request from Uncle Yao’s Chorus to use public service scales for a rehearsal on June 23 and a performance on June 25, 2016 at the CCHC-Herald Mission Center in Flushing, NY. Fisher excused. It was moved and seconded to approve the Memorandum of Agreement with Center for Contemporary Opera. Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously. It was moved and seconded to approve the use of public service scales as requested by Uncle Yao’s Chorus. Discussion held. Motion carried unanimously.
