Meeting called to order at 11:21 A.M. by President Suttmann. Present in person: Recording Vice President Mars, Financial Vice President Fisher, Executive Board Members Bove, Burridge, and Haines. Present by video conference: Executive Board Members Cutler, DeRosa, Goodfriend-Koven, and Local 802 Chief of Staff Daniel Point.

The Board reviewed the June 24, 2025 Executive Board minutes.

Motion made and seconded to approve the minutes, as corrected.

Motion carried unanimously.

The Board reviewed the June 18, 2025 general membership meeting minutes.

Motion made and seconded to approve the minutes, as drafted.

Motion carried unanimously.

Motion made and seconded for the Board to affirm the poll approving the June 10, 2025 Executive Board minutes, as drafted.

Motion made and seconded to approve an agreement among Willig, Williams & Davidson, the Met Opera Orchestra Committee, and Local 802 to provide legal services to the Orchestra Committee for the negotiations between the Met Opera and Local 802.

Mars reviewed the terms of a collective bargaining agreement between the 92nd Street Y and Local 802 for its Jazz in July series for the period July 26, 2025 through July 25, 2027.

Motion made and seconded to approve for ratification the collective bargaining agreement between the 92nd Street Y and Local 802 for its Jazz in July series for the period July 26, 2025 through July 25, 2027.

Motion carried unanimously.

Mars reviewed the terms of a collective bargaining agreement between the Jazz Foundation of America, Inc. and Local 802 for the period June 3, 2025 through June 2, 2028.

Motion made and seconded to approve for ratification the collective bargaining agreement between the Jazz Foundation of America, Inc. and Local 802 for the period June 3, 2025 through June 2, 2028.

Mars reviewed the terms of a collective bargaining agreement between the New York City Labor Chorus and Local 802 for the period April 19, 2025 through April 18, 2028.

Motion made and seconded to approve for ratification the collective bargaining agreement between the New York City Labor Chorus and Local 802 for the period April 19, 2025 through April 18, 2028.

Suttmann appointed Local 802 Communications Director Mikael Elsila, Bove,Mars, Point and Haines to the Local 802 media committee.

Motion made and seconded to approve payment of $850 for editing and mastering costs for the Jazz Advisory Committee’s second pod cast subject to approval and reimbursement by the Local 802 Coordinating Advisory Counsel.

Suttmann reported on negotiations between the Met Opera and Local 802 on behalf of the Title Callers bargaining unit.

Suttmann reported on a meeting with the Broadway negotiation committee.

Suttmann reported on a letter he had received from the AFM regarding a proposal submitted by the Met Opera Orchestra in the negotiations between the Met Opera and Local 802.

Suttmann reported on a grievance enforcing the New York City Ballet contractual obligation to feature biographies of orchestra members on their Web site.

Fisher reported on the ratification vote for the AFM’s Integrated Media Agreement.

Fisher reported on the satisfaction of a settlement with the American Ballet Theatre resulting from its failure to use bargaining unit members during its gala.

Fisher reported on a caucus with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra to formulate a proposal for health benefit contributions.

Motion made and seconded to approve the 2025 recipients of the Anne Walker scholarship.

Mars reported that workplace discrimination claims had been filed with the New York City Commission on Human Rights on behalf of New School School of Jazz and Contemporary Music part time faculty.

Mars reported on negotiations between 54 Below and Local 802.

Mars reported on negotiations between Midori and Friends and Local 802.

Mars reported on a labor rally he attended in support of a casino license for Caesars Palace Times Square, New York.

Mars reported on negotiations between the John Engeman Theatre and Local 802.

Mars reported on organizing efforts at Birdland Jazz Club.

Motion made and seconded to approve one Broadway musician’s leave of absence request.
