Financial Wellness Program

From the Entertainment Community Fund

Volume 123, No. 4April, 2023

The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund) is a national human services organization that helps address the specific needs of musicians and other entertainment professionals — with a unique understanding of the challenges involved with a life in the arts and the knowledge of what it takes to thrive in an often-unpredictable industry.

In recognition of Financial Literacy Month, the Entertainment Community Fund shines a spotlight on Financial Wellness.

With a mission to engage, educate and empower entertainment professionals about building financial stability, the Fund’s Financial Wellness Program is a place for musicians to turn to for help setting financial goals, practical advice on planning for multiple and episodic streams of income, developing a savings plan and much more.

Designed with the unique needs of entertainment professionals in mind, the Financial Wellness Program offers single-session workshops covering topics from the basics of investing to managing debt, multi-session series exploring budgeting skills, and groups providing support and accountability to those on the path to financial stability.

All members of Local 802 are invited to engage in the services of the Financial Wellness Program. Upcoming workshops include:

  • Intro to Financial Wellness
  • Managing Debt for Creative Professionals
  • Money Matters: Investing Basics 1 | Building a Portfolio
  • Money Matters: Investing Basics 2 | Later-Life Re$ources
