Aurora Is Accepting Musicians' Applications

The Aurora is a supportive, shared housing residence sponsored by the Actors’ Fund of America and managed by Common Ground. It provides affordable housing for senior citizens (50 and older), working professionals and persons with AIDS. The Aurora features 24-hour security, modem appliances, central heating and air conditioning. Many apartments have terraces and feature spectacular Manhattan views.

Eligibility for the Aurora is based on federal guidelines for Low Income Housing Tax Credits:

  • An applicant’s income from all sources (employment, benefits and asset interest) cannot have exceeded $22,400 for the past year.
  • In general, an annual income of between $13,000 and $15,000 would be necessary to live comfortably ($12,000 is the required minimum income).
  • The monthly rent is between $526 and $536.
