A tribute to Martin Brown

Volume 122, No. 6June, 2022

Amy Brown

My father, Martin Brown, 96, a member of Local 802 since 1946, died on April 27, 2022. He was a fine pianist and always played with a huge smile on his face. When I remember my dad, I always picture him in a tuxedo, on his way to the next gig. I don’t know when he slept, but he always made it a point to have dinner with his family during the week.  He traveled the globe with his music, and he used to tell us, “These hands took me around the world.”  Dad, you will be sorely missed, and may you rest in peace. My father is survived by his brother Gerard (and Gerard’s wife Sukanya); his children Amy (and Amy’s husband Hertzel), Wayne and Dean; and his grandchildren Samantha and Elizabeth. He was predeceased by his wife Ellen and his father Alex (Allie) Brown, who was also a member of Local 802.
