Schedule of Public Programs for 2002

The Metro New York Labor Communications Council, of which Allegro is a member, is planning a series of public programs. Local 802 members are invited to attend.

  • “Oh Say Can You See: The Ethics of Reporting in a Time of National Crisis,” is set for Thursday, Jan. 17, at 6:30 p.m. It will be a panel discussion of critical issues facing labor reporters and the media in the post-9/11 world.
  • “Breaking the Age Barrier: Breaching the Labor Movement’s Generational Divide,” will be presented on Thursday, March 14 at 5 p.m. The panel is made up of representatives from the new generation of labor activists.
  • “The Real Deal: Newsletter Production by and for the Rank and File,” will be a nuts-and-bolts, hands-on workshop on production skills for union members. It is scheduled for Thursday, June 27, at 6:30 p.m.

All programs will take place at the United Federation of Teachers, 48 East 21st Street (off Park Avenue South).
