PATRICK APPELLO

Agreement was reached between Local 802 and Patrick Appello for all work performed by the longtime Local 802 member and classical guitarist, as well as other musicians employed. The contract covers all single and steady engagements and is tied to existing wage scales and benefits in those fields. It also enables the employer to make benefit contributions for his work at a private university.

OLD FIRST REFORMED CHURCH

The agreement between Local 802 and the Old First Reformed Church of Brooklyn was extended for one year. The contract covers the organist who performs Sunday services, certain holidays and special services (weddings, funerals, etc.). Wage scales and pension benefits remain unchanged.

MERRICK SYMPHONY

The musicians of the Merrick Symphony have ratified a new contract for the 2007-2008 season. Performance wages have increased 2.4 percent since the previous contract, and rehearsal wages have gone up 2.5 percent. In addition, musicians will earn higher payments for health benefits and mileage. The Merrick Symphony typically plays one or two performances a year.
