Milton Charles, a member of Local 802’s Organizing Department for the past three years, has been assigned to serve as the union’s jazz rep for the next three months. Current jazz rep Natasha Jackson has been granted a three-month leave of absence.

Charles has been involved in several of the union’s organizing campaigns, including recent wins at the Kaufman Center and Midori and Friends. He also played an important role as one of the organizers of last year’s campaign to preserve New York’s rent laws, led by Tenants and Neighbors.
