Local 802 members at the New School are in support of our fellow unions on campus. On March 4, UAW Local ACT-7902, which represents 1,600 part-time faculty members, took the lead at a demonstration pushing back against austerity measures being implemented by the university that have already resulted in layoffs of full-time faculty. Unions are demanding a seat at the table in an effort to save jobs and preserve benefits for their members.
