NYU Grad Teachers Strike

Volume CV, No. 12December, 2005

Picket lines went up on Nov. 9 in front of NYU. The union of graduate employees at New York University is fighting for the basic right to a union. After four years of collective bargaining with its graduate employees, the NYU administration is now refusing to recognize the union due to a regressive ruling by the Bush-appointed NLRB.

Hundreds of graduate teaching and research assistants went on strike on Nov.9. Hundreds of classes were cancelled or moved.

The union is asking supporters to contact NYU and tell them to negotiate in good faith with our union. E-mail or call NYU President John Sexton (john.sexton@nyu.edu or 212-998-2345) to let him know that you will not support his union-busting efforts.
