Local 802 is proud to announce that the Roxy Coss Quintet is the winner of Local 802’s inaugural Emerging Artist Project grant. This exciting quintet was selected over 51 other applicants to win the grant of $10,000 per year for four years. The quintet, founded and led by Roxy Coss (pictured at left), has signed a one-year agreement with Local 802, bringing this emerging ensemble under contract. More on Roxy – who is also founder/director of Women in Jazz Organization – and the rest of the quintet, in next month’s issue of Allegro. Congratulations to Roxy (saxophone), Alex Wintz (guitar), Miki Yamanaka (piano), Rick Rosato (bass), and Jimmy Macbride (drums)!
