Two Staff Members Are Promoted

Two staff members at Local 802 have been promoted.

Joe Delia has been promoted to assistant to the president. Frances McDonald will be the new assistant to the financial vice president.

JOE DELIA

Joe Delia was hired by 802 in October 2001 as the union’s Broadway and Concert Rep.

He graduated from the AFL-CIO Organizing Institute in 1996. As part of his training, he worked with the UFCW in Florida, UNITE in Maine, the Building Trades in Las Vegas and the Teamsters in New England.

As an international organizer with the Teamsters, Delia worked on organizing campaigns across the country.

He has also been a business agent with Teamsters Local 311 (Baltimore) and an international organizer with AFSCME.

Delia earned a B.S. in history from Towson State University.

As assistant to the president, Delia will supervise the Theatre Department, under the direction of the president’s office.


FRAN MCDONALD

Fran McDonald has been working at Local 802 for over 21 years. Her early years were spent in the secretary’s office before she moved to the department of the Music Performance Trust Funds. In 1991 McDonald became the executive secretary to then Vice President Florence Nelson. In this role, her work in the Concert Department became well known to many members.

In 2003, McDonald became the union’s personnel manager.

Now in addition to her personnel responsibilities, McDonald will serve as the assistant to the financial vice president allowing the Concert Department to utilize her invaluable experience.
