Applications are now open for the Waldo Mayo Violin Concerto Competition sponsored by the Local 802 Senior Musicians Association. The winner will receive $5,000 and the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall with the Local 802 Senior Musicians Concert Orchestra. Applicants must guarantee that they are available to perform the concert on October 12, 2025 and also rehearse in the week of October 6, 2025 to October 11, 2025. To audition, prepare an entire concerto of your choice from the standard repertoire for violin. You may bring an accompanist or play unaccompanied.
