I joined the union when I won a subbing position in an Off Broadway show. I moved to NYC from Philly, but I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I play salsa and Latin percussion, drum set in rock and jazz, and orchestral percussion and timpani. I’ve played and toured with show bands, musicals and symphony orchestras, and I’ve recorded on salsa albums and Broadway-style song tracks. I want to find Broadway jobs as a percussionist or drum set player as well as orchestral work. I also write my own music, including jazz, salsa, and music for chamber ensembles. New York City is a great place to put all of these skills into use, make music, and connect with people in very different and unique ways.
